The Executive Staff is composed of the Executive Officer and Deputy Executive Officer. The duo works closely with the State Master Councilor and State Deputy Master Councilor, as well as chapter advisors across the state, to develop program planning, provide advisor training and assist local chapters in furthering the principles of DeMolay.

Dad Tony Glidewell, Executive Officer

In 1989, Tony Glidewell was initiated in the Raymond B. Morgan Chapter of DeMolay, located in Cary, North Carolina.  He was installed as Master Councilor of the Chapter in 1990.  In 1991, he served as North Carolina State Master Councilor.  While a DeMolay, he received the honor of Chevalier and the Distinguished Service Award.

After reaching the age of majority, he became a DAD Trainer in 1992, and became an Advisor of Raleigh Chapter in 1994.  In 2000, he became a “Master” DAD Trainer (a trainer’s trainer).  He has also been invested as a member of the Legion of Honor.  He has been a Master Mason since 1994 and is a member of Cary Lodge #198.

Tony graduated from Cary High School in 1988.  He attended N.C. State University for Mechanical Engineering / Computer Engineering.  He was hired by IBM in 1989 and worked for 15 years in Manufacturing, Facility Maintenance, and Distribution in various positions. In addition, he has worked for Lenovo, OAO Technology Solutions and IBM.

Dad Matthew Hunt, Deputy Executive Officer

Dad Hunt grew up in Asheboro, North Carolina, where at the age of twelve he joined the Rising SONS Chapter of the Order of DeMolay as the last member needed to receive their Charter in 1994.  As a member of the Rising SONS Chapter, he served various offices including Master Councilor and Scribe.  Dad Hunt also served many offices in the nearby Greensboro Chapter.  In 1998 he was elected State Junior Councilor at the annual Grand Master’s Class, and three years later was installed as the Seventy-Third State Master Councilor of the North Carolina Association Order of DeMolay.

As an active member of the Order of DeMolay, Dad Hunt received many awards and honors, including:  Past Master Councilor – Meritorious Service Award, Founders Award, Blue Honor Key, Distinguished Service Award, and the Representative DeMolay Award.  During the summer of 1999, Dad Hunt was knighted as a member of the Col. James “Nick” Rowe Serving Priory, Order of Knighthood. In 2000, he was invested with the rank and honor of a Chevalier of the Order of DeMolay.

After serving as State Master Councilor, he attended the University of Maryland.  Dad Hunt currently works for the N.C. Department of Cultural Resources.

Dad Hunt is a member of Asheboro Masonic Lodge #699 where he is currently serving as Junior Warden, and Chairman for several committees.  He also serves as Chairman of the Advisory Council for his home chapter, The Rising SONS.  He is active in his local community as a Volunteer fire fighter and paramedic.  He also serves on many non-profit boards of directors, most of which are dedicated to youth programs or higher learning for conservation and environmental management.

Andrew Williard, State Master Councilor

In January of 2012, Andrew Williard was initiated in the Winston-Salem Chapter of DeMolay. He was installed as Master Councilor of the re-instituted Chapter in August of that year and named Rookie of the Year at his first Conclave. In August of 2013, Andrew received his Past Master Councilor Meritorious Service Award and his Representative DeMolay Award. Andrew served as State Junior Councilor before being elected State Master Councilor.

Outside of DeMolay, Andrew is a member of the National Junior Honor Society and a member of the Forsyth County All-County Chorus. Andrew is an avid soccer fan, having played many years at the classic level for Triad Elite Soccer Club, and as a member of his school team.

Andrew’s focus for his term as State Master Councilor is on the Masonic Family and strengthening the ties that bind. Andrew believes that a family that serves and plays together stays together.

Luis Roman, Jr., Deputy State Master Councilor

Luis D. Roman, Jr. is from Raleigh. He is the current Master Councilor of Raleigh Chapter, as well as Deputy State Master Councilor in North Carolina. Before moving to North Carolina, Luis was Past Master Councilor of Union Chapter in Cranford, NJ.

He attends Athens Drive High School in Raleigh. Two of his favorite hobbies are playing sports and playing music. Luis plays football, basketball and wrestles. He also plays trombone and guitar.

One of his biggest goals for his term is increasing membership by having fun.
