Dad
Silber was born in 1972, in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he grew up and
became actively involved in DeMolay at the age of thirteen. He joined
DeMolay as a result of the encouragement of his father, Ed, who is a
Master Mason and also a Senior DeMolay. After serving as Master Councilor
for the Raleigh Chapter, he was elected Deputy State Master Councilor and
subsequently State Master Councilor for the State of North Carolina
(following in the footsteps of his brother, Chaz, who was also a State
Master Councilor). While serving as State Master Councilor, he was elected
Region III Coordinator and then at the conclusion of this term served as
DeMolay International Congress Chaplain. After becoming a Senior DeMolay,
Frank was appointed as the State Scribe/Treasurer (the last official
appointment of E. John Elmore, Past N.C. Executive Officer and Past Grand
Master of DeMolay International). He is now an Active Member of the
International Supreme Council. He is also a Master Mason, having joined
James B. Green Lodge # 735 in Raleigh at the age of 21. Dad Silber’s
wife, Johanna, is a Past Grand Worthy Advisor of the International Order
of Rainbow for Girls in North Carolina and a Past DeMolay State
Sweetheart.
While
Frank was active as a DeMolay, he received the Representative DeMolay
award, Blue Honor Key, Distinguished Service Award, and was invested as a
Chevalier.He also received a
number of awards in athletic and ritual competitions, including the State
Flower Talk Championship five years in a row.Since becoming a Senior DeMolay, he has received the Advisor’s
Honor Key and Guild of the Leather Apron, and been invested as a member of
the Legion of Honor.
With
regard to his scholastic background and professional career, Frank
received a Bachelor of Science from the University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill in 1994.At UNC,
he majored in Mathematical Sciences (Computer Science option), was a
member of Theta Chi Fraternity (serving as Scholarship and Social
Chairman), received the Thomas J. Watson National Merit Scholarship, and
worked at IBM during the summers in the regional network operations center
at Research Triangle Park.He
then attended Wake Forest University School of Law, receiving the Donald
and Elizabeth Cooke Foundation Scholarship and becoming Executive Editor
of the Law Review.He
graduated law school in 1997, Magna Cum Laude, and was honored with a
designation as a member of the Order of the Coif.Since graduating law school, he has worked in the Transactional
Department of Parker, Poe, Adams & Bernstein, one of the largest law
firms in North Carolina.He
is now a partner and focuses on general corporate law, commercial
transactions, and technology licensing.
In
1989, Tony Glidewell was initiated in the Raymond B. Morgan Chapter of
DeMolay, located in Cary, North Carolina.He was installed as Master Councilor of the Chapter in 1990.In 1991, he served as North Carolina State Master Councilor.While a DeMolay, he received the honor of Chevalier and the
Distinguished Service Award.
After
reaching the age of majority, he became a DAD Trainer in 1992, and became
an Advisor of Raleigh Chapter in 1994.In 2000, he became a “Master” DAD Trainer (a trainer's
trainer).He has also been
invested as a member of the Legion of Honor.He has been a Master Mason since 1994 and is a member of Cary Lodge
#198.
Tony graduated from Cary
High School in 1988.He
attended N.C. State University for Mechanical Engineering / Computer
Engineering.He was hired by
IBM in 1989 and worked for 15 years in Manufacturing, Facility
Maintenance, and Distribution in various positions.He subsequently worked one year for Lenovo as an Inventory Control
Analyst, before taking his current position as Technical Solutions Manager
with OAO Technology Solutions providing services to IBM.
Dad Glidewell currently
serves on the NC DeMolay State Staff as the Eastern District Governor,
Director of Communications, and Chief Dad Trainer.
Dad Hunt grew up in
Asheboro, North Carolina, where at the age of twelve he joined the Rising
SONS Chapter of the Order of DeMolay as the last member needed to receive
their Charter in 1994.As a
member of the Rising SONS Chapter, he served various offices including
Master Councilor and Scribe.Dad
Hunt also served many offices in the nearby Greensboro Chapter.In 1998 he was elected State Junior Councilor at the annual Grand
Master’s Class, and three years later was installed as the Seventy-Third
State Master Councilor of the North Carolina Association Order of DeMolay.
As
an active member of the Order of DeMolay, Dad Hunt received many awards
and honors, including:Past
Master Councilor - Meritorious Service Award, Founders Award, Blue Honor
Key, Distinguished Service Award, and the Representative DeMolay Award.During the summer of 1999, Dad Hunt was knighted as a member of the
Col. James “Nick” Rowe Serving Priory, Order of Knighthood. In 2000,
he was invested with the rank and honor of a Chevalier of the Order of
DeMolay.
After
serving as State Master Councilor, he attended the University of Maryland.Dad Hunt currently works for Central Carolina Fire Protection
as a Designer and Technician.
Dad
Hunt is a member of Asheboro Masonic Lodge #699 where he is currently
serving as Junior Warden, and Chairman for several committees.He also serves as Chairman of the Advisory Council for his home
chapter, The Rising SONS.He
is active in his local community as a Volunteer fire fighter and
paramedic.He also serves on
many non-profit boards of directors, most of which are dedicated to youth
programs or higher learning for conservation and environmental management.
Dad
Hunt currently serves in several capacities on the staff of the North
Carolina Association Order of DeMolay, including Western
District Governor, Director of New Chapter Development, and Commander of
the Chevaliers.
