On February 11, 2007 Dad Rouse passed the gavel of the Executive Officer of North Carolina DeMolay to Dad Frank Silber.  The following is Dad Rouse's biography as it appeared here on the North Carolina DeMolay website.

Dad Chuck Rouse

Executive Officer

Dad Rouse was born in Somerville, MA (a suburb of Boston) on Nov 16, 1963 – one week before President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. He is the oldest of four children. Throughout his young life his family moved around New England, spent time in New Hampshire, Connecticut, and several locations north of Boston. He graduated from Tewksbury (MA) High School in 1981, a member of the National Honor Society, as well as a varsity letterman in baseball and indoor track. Dad Rouse also did the statistics for the football and hockey teams. He joined Wamesit Chapter of DeMolay in 1979, as a part of a special class in honor of John Wayne. After joining, he served as a Preceptor, Steward, Junior and Senior Councilor, and was the chapter’s Member of the Year in 1981. Dad Rouse excelled in chapter sports including softball, basketball, and track, as well as the "superstars" competition at conclaves in 1980 and 1981. During his term as Senior Councilor in 1982, the family moved to his father’s home in Kenansville, NC, where he lost contact with DeMolay for almost 10 years.

Since that time, Dad Rouse graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 1985 and moved to Raleigh to pursue his career as a CPA. In 1990, he felt it was time to get back involved with DeMolay. After a quick search and several phone calls, he was visiting the Raleigh Chapter and in no time became an advisor. Since joining the ranks of Raleigh Chapter, Dad Rouse has been conferred with the Advisor’s Honor Key, the Degree of Chevalier, the Legion of Honor, and the Representative DeMolay. He served as State Dad in 1994, and was honored with the Guild of the Leather Apron as Advisor of the Year for NC in 1992.

During this period, Raleigh Chapter had consistently been one of the top chapters in the state, supplying three SMC’s (with another one in the works), winning a number of degree competitions, athletic honors, and four Chapter of the Year awards since 1992. Dad Rouse proudly accepted a nomination for Deputy to the ISC in 1996, and was elected as an Active member in 1999. He has been serving as Eastern District Deputy since 1995. Of particular note is that Dad Rouse is one of the founding members and was the first Commander of the Cardinal Court of Chevaliers.  He held the Commander's position until 1998.

As for other Masonic memberships, Dad Rouse was Master of Hiram Lodge #40 of Raleigh for 2000, and is a member of the the Raleigh Scottish Rite Bodies, and was the Chairman of the Grand Lodge Committee on Masonic Youth Organizations.

Dad Rouse received formal EO Training in the Fall of 2001 and assumed the duties of North Carolina DeMolay Executive Officer on January 5, 2002.
